Day 1: Vientiane arrival
Arrive in Vientiane, our driver welcomes and transfers you to hotel. Your leisure time in the city on your own.

After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy your leisure time in the city on your own.

Day 3: Vientiane – Fly to Xieng Khuang (no guide)
After breakfast, free time until our driver will pick you up at the hotel and then transfer without guide to airport for short flight to Xieng Khuang, the province which is best-known for having been heavily bombed during Indochina War. But of course it is also famous for its historic Plain of Jars. QV401 VTEXKH 13:50-14:25
On arrival, transfer to your hotel. Free for the rest of the day. Meals on your own.

Day 4: Xieng Khuang – Fly back to Vientiane
In the morning, enjoy a half day trip to Muang Khoun, the old provincial capital that was not been destroyed by the American bombings during the secret war.
Muang Khoun is home to unique sitting giant Buddha as well of some old pagodas that lies in ruins.
The foundation and columns of Wat Pia Wat are still standing and close to this site, there is also an old 30m stupa constructed in the Lan Xang/Lanna period.
After that, we drive back to town and visit the “Plain of Jars”, which is an impressive archaeological site where hundreds of large stone jars are scattered all over a plateau.
These huge jars are supposedly over 2,000 years old, but most archaeologists still question their purpose.
We have time today to explore the Plain of Jars site 1 and some nearby villages, populated by the Hmong hill tribe and Tai Dam people; they are very poor but possess a vibrant local culture and an interesting history.
We then transfer out to the airport to take the flight to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. (NO GUIDE IN VIENTIANE) QV401 XKH VTE 15:05 14:50

Attention: The Plain of Jars has been heavily bombed during the war and you have to respect all the signs and stay along the defined trails due to bombs, UXO and landmines.

Day 5: Vientiane (city tour)
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. We begin our tour by visiting the serene Wat Sisaket, one of the most beautiful temples in the capital. Continue on to the nearby Wat Phra Keo. Used as a religious museum, Wat Phra Keo displays a collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art. Next, we visit COPE, an ssociation
working to help landmine victims. Lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we stop at the Patuxay monument, Laos’ version of the Arc de Triomphe. Continue out visit at Pha That Luang, the holiest site in Laos. We drive out of the city to visit the Buddha Park which contains numerous religious images. Back to the city.

Day 6: Vang Vieng → exploration
Early in the morning, we depart from the capital for our journey northbound to Vang Vieng. En route, we’ll witness breathtaking scenery, passing through spectacular countryside as we approach the mountainous region. Our arrival in Vang Vieng is expected around noon.
During the afternoon, we embark on a tour through paddy field areas, making our way to Tham Nangfa, also known as Angel Cave. This cave is adorned with massive limestone formations and boasts spectacular stalactites in various unique configurations. Along the route, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in local cultures by greeting villagers and learning about their daily lifestyle.
Following our exploration of Tham Nangfa, we visit the renowned Blue Lagoon, where you can take a refreshing dip in the cool water or leisurely stroll around to explore the nearby surroundings.
Before returning to your hotel, take a serene 30-minute cruise upstream on the Nam Song River aboard a local long-tail boat (with two people per boat), soaking in the picturesque surroundings.
Optional: In the late afternoon, consider joining a hot-air balloon ride over the mountains of Vang Vieng as the sun sets, offering a breathtaking view of the beautiful nature in the surrounding area.

Day 7: Vang Vieng → Luang Prabang
After breakfast, our songthaew driver will take you 14 km north to the amazing Tham Xang (Elephant Cave), located on the banks of the Nam Song River. This important Buddhist temple is named for its remarkable limestone formations resembling elephants.
Next, we head to the nearby Tham Hoi (Snail Cave), which winds deep into the mountains. We’ll spend 45 minutes exploring its numerous long corridors and stunning limestone formations.
We will also explore the Loop Cave, known for its impressive stalagmite formations, before continuing on to Tham Nam (Water Cave). At Tham Nam, a cool spring pool lies at the cave’s mouth, making it a perfect spot for a refreshing swim. We’ll tube through the water-filled cave, which is crystal clear during the dry season.
After this, we trek 2 km to the Hmong village of Phathao, passing through rice paddies and vegetable gardens. Upon arrival, transportation will take us back to Vang Vieng.
Then transfer to the train station to take the train to Luang Prabang (about 01 hour).

Day 8: Luang Prabang → Pak Ou caves
After breakfast, we’ll visit the Royal Palace Museum, built in 1904 during the French colonial era.
A leisurely cruise on the Mekong River follows, offering scenic views en route to the Pak Ou Caves, filled with thousands of gold-lacquered Buddha statues.
Stops include Ban Xanghai for local rice wine. Returning to Luang Prabang, we’ll explore Wat Sene and the stunning Wat Xiengthong temple with its intricate mosaics. If time allows, we’ll visit Ban Xangkhong for crafts and Ban Xienglek for traditional Saa paper. Optional activities include joining a petanque game with locals. Later, we’ll admire the sunset at Wat Prabath and conclude with the Night Market’s handmade textiles.

Day 9: Luang Prabang → Kuang Si Falls
Have breakfast at your hotel.
We’ll rise early to join Laos’ sacred morning alms giving tradition, dating back to the 14th century.
Over 200 Buddhist monks collect their daily meals from residents along the quiet streets.
Afterward, we’ll explore the morning market near the former Royal Palace, where locals barter their fresh produce and catches of the day. Following breakfast, we’ll climb 329 steps up Phousi Hill for a panoramic view of Luang Prabang and the Mekong River.
Then, we’ll head directly to Kuang Si, the largest waterfall in the area, featuring three tiers cascading into azure pools—ideal for swimming and popular with both tourists and locals.
Optionally, you can stroll to Ban Thapene to discover secluded waterfalls rarely visited by tourists. En route back to Luang Prabang, there’s an opportunity to visit the Bear Rescue Center, housing animals rescued from poachers. Finally, we’ll make a brief stop at the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, where artisans create high-quality textiles using traditional methods near the Mekong River.

Day 10: Luang Prabang → Elephant Village
8:00 am – 8:30AM: Pick up by our English speaking guide from your hotel lobby within Luang Prabang, Laos
Arrival at the Elephant Village Camp: Welcome greeting by your guide and participate in a short briefing about elephants
Elephant Feeding: Get up close and personal with elephants
Explore Elephant Village: Visit our elephant hospital, museum, gallery and dung paper making facility!
Learn to communicate: Enjoy the impressive experience of being a Mahout and how they communicate.
Boat trip to the Tad Sae Waterfall: Ride in a traditional Lao long boat to the Tad Sae Waterfall and relax or swim in the clear water. Swimsuit recommended! (note: water levels will vary with seasonal conditions)
Lunch: Dine at our Elephant Camp restaurant. Your buffet lunch is served with coffee / tea and drinking water (vegetarian options are available)
1:00pm: Depart the camp. Transfer back to your hotel in Luang Prabang

Day 11: Luang Prabang – Nahm Dong Park
After departing at 8:30 am from your hotel, transfer to Nahm Dong park, which locates in Ban Xiengmouk, 10Km from city center.
Arriving at the park, we will have a short welcome by the park manager before joining the morning activities here.
We will first start with the Zipline flying over the jungle and the waterfalls admiring the amazing evergreen scenery. The zipline will take about 1 hour.
Then we will walk back via the jungle trail crossing some flying bridges, small streams, and clear natural pools, where you can take a refresh splash if you wish so.
The picnic lunch will be served at the viewpoint where you can spread your view over the region, including the view of mount Phousi in the city center.
You can either spend the rest of the afternoon stroll around the park, relax by one of the huts at the camp, or enjoy the fresh cool clear natural pools.
Note: Zipline in 1 hour, trekking min 1 hour – max 3 hours depending on the route that you choose

Day 12: Luang Prabang → Siem Reap
After breakfast, your leisure time till we transfer you to the airport for flight to Siem Reap. Arrive in Siem Reap, our driver welcomes and transfers you to hotel for your stay.

Day 14: Siem Reap (exploration)
Morning, visit some famous temples in Siem Reap including: East Mebon, Ta Som, Neak Panan, Preah Khan, Pre Rup. Afternoon, sightseeing at the Tonle Sap Lake, the “Great Lake” of Cambodia, on a traditional wooden boat.
